Welcome to another week of Kingdom Coming prayer. Last week we looked at meeting the king and repentance,praise for the King, the bigger picture, surrender and Kingdom reign, this was all about the inward work of God, establishing His Kingdom in us, so that we can carry it to the world. This week we look out to those around us and the world around us, praying that powerful prayer your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
However, today I want to set the scene and put one more thought to us individually before we look out.
Yesterday in the Kingdom Coming sermon in our Revive @ Home service, we looked at the Holy Spirit and how He empowers us through His baptism to go out and do the work Jesus called us to do. The last words of Jesus before he ascended to heaven were this:
Acts1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
This will form the prayers for this week as we pray for the Holy Spirit coming upon us, and then pray for His kingdom to come first close to us as Jerusalem was to the disciples, and the looking further out throughout the week.
I don’t know about you, but I need the Holy Spirit to empower me to take this kingdom out to the world, I can’t do that without Him!
