A great team of leaders head up various departments and each of us hold the culture of Revive Church in our hearts. We all feel privileged to serve the Lord Jesus and His church, and are excited about seeing people grow into all that God has for them.
Peter & Janice Bird
Peter and Janice have been senior pastors at Revive Church since 2000 and are passionate about seeing people fulfil their potential in God. Over the years they have established a growing and outward looking multi-generational church, where people of every age can experience lively worship and a sense of family. They have overseen Revive Church develop into multi-site, with congregations at Stalybridge and Hyde.
In addition to leading the church Peter holds the role of Zone Co-ordinator for the Manchester region of AoG churches, and Janice is the Zone Training co-ordinator for ministers in training with the AoG.
Brian & Julia Westhead
Brian serves as an Elder of Revive Church and regularly leads and speaks at public worship. He has been associated with the Church Family at High St since it re-opened for worship in 1973! Brian has a special fondness for World Christian Music and is part of The Resonance Band. He has a particular interest where the church meets the community.
Brian works in software for the Automotive industry and when he gets the chance you’ll find him hillwalking, cycling, taking photographs and making music.
Julia is involved with pastoral care and children’s work and helps look after Revive Cafe. She has organised public events at the church and also helped to run town events. Julia works in mental health as a Music Therapist and a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.
Connect Group Co-ordinator
Connect Groups are small mid-week groups where people meeting to worship God, share His word, pray and strengthen and encourage on another.
Doug and Carol Brown have been married since 1993 years and have 3 children. Doug is a Company Director and Carol works as a volunteer for Good News Family Care (Charis House) and Home Start. Carol and Doug run a Connect Group together and are both involved in pastoral and children’s ministries in the church. Doug is the Connect Group Coordinator at New Mills and heads up Youth Church on Sunday mornings. Carol also heads up the Kids Church on Sunday mornings and Vineyard Women’s Group ministry, and is on the Kids Life team.
Craig & Catie-Anne Harper
Youth Connect Leaders
Youth Connect is a group for young people aged 11-16 years old and exists to provide discipleship for young people by allowing them to explore the Christian faith in a small group environment.
Craig and Catie-Anne live in New Mils with their two sons. Craig works in the pharmaceutical industry and enjoys playing Brass Band music and computer games in his spare time. Craig and Catie-Anne are passionate about ensuring young people in the community grow up with a good grounding in the messages of the bible, and have a safe place to ask questions and learn about what Jesus has done for everyone of them.
Revive Kids Leader
Hazel lives in New Mills with her husband Ben and their two young girls. Hazel has worked with children in the local church and community for over 15 years. Hazel leads the Sunday kids & Youth work with an amazingly dedicated team. Her passion is helping her team to grow, lead well and flourish in their ministries and to aim for excellence in the Kids & Youth ministry. The vision of the Sunday kids programmes is to create space every week for each girl & boy to encounter their creator, have the opportunity to worship in their own way, and to see them grow in their understanding and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Tom & Lara Taylor
Revive Café Manager / Prayer Co-ordinator
Tom Taylor is the Manager of Revive Café located in the heart of New Mills. It’s here that he thrives and delights in being a part of seeing people’s lives transformed as they come to know the love of God through Christ. Tom is married to Lara who is the prayer co-ordinator for the church. Tom and Lara and their children play an active part in seeking God’s Kingdom come, for the community in New Mills and beyond.
Simon & Jane Lomas
Kids Life and GenX Leaders
Simon and Jane head up Kids Life and GenX, our two mid-week outreach programmes that serve as a place for the children and young people of New Mills to engage with church. Simon and Jane have been married since 2008 and it is their heart to see children and young people know, grow, and show God’s love to others and to recognise their God-given value and potential.
Dave & Sarah Evans
Dave and Sarah lead a dedicated pastoral team which consists of caring, passionate people who serve on a practical/spiritual level to show the love of Jesus through being Jesus’ hands and feet to people both in Revive church and our community. The team work had to ensure that those who are going through difficult situations have the care of the church family, through meals, visitation and various other practical helps as well as ensuring that spiritual needs are supported.
