What’s your destination?

Homer Heaven

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

The message series in Stalybridge during the last month has been “We are sailing” and has all been about the journey of faith!  Andy ended last week’s message with a prompt to avoid the dangers of Dead Calm by ensuring that we know our final destination.

Essentially, we need to know where we are going, or our journey will be completely aimless!  So where are you headed and what are you expecting to see there?

Many have this impression of heaven being lots of fluffy clouds and fat cherubs playing harps.  Thankfully, that is nonsense!  Other people assume that it will be just a 24/7/365 endless church service, which would also seem to be a bit lacking in purpose.  (I have been in some services that seemed like they lasted an eternity, but would not want to try it in reality!)

On the contrary, life in Heaven will be one filled with the purposes and promises of God, with lots to do and enjoy.  Maybe not chocolate fountains, as God is not “Willy Wonker”, but still the pleasures of the beauty of God’s heavenly creation without sin, sickness or suffering.  What’s your eternal destination?

Listen to Andy’s message on “Final destination” to find out more.
