The Power of invitation

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20

When was the last time you invited someone to church? How about the last time you brought someone to church? Not just invited someone, but brought them?

This is a challenge to us all, but we really need to take the mystery and fear out of invitational evangelism. Jesus called us to share the good news of the gospel and “Make disciples of all nations”. We carry the hope, the good news, the promise of new life.

Evangelism is the duty of every Christian. Whether you have shared your faith a lot or a little in the past, the Lord wants ALL Christians to share the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It should be a natural part of who we are and our conversations with others, rather than an awkward subject.

Most people come to church and subsequently come to faith because a friend was bold enough to invite, then bring them to church. Who could you bring for our Good Friday or Easter Sunday service? Be bold this week and invite someone.

Witnessing to friends and family members is not always easy; but it is absolutely necessary. Swallow your fears and love them more than you love yourself. Gather your thoughts and be wise in your presentation. Pray in preperation and wait for the right opportunity to speak to them. Then, present the gospel with humility, honesty, respect, patience, kindness, and love. Trust the Lord in your efforts.

Let’s believe together to see a harvest of souls come into the Kingdom! Be Brave!
