“And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” Mark 3:24
Today I want to share about the importance of us standing together and being united as we fulfil the call to be people of one heart and vision.
Do not fall into the trap of falling into offense and destroying one another when there is a difference of opinion. When we “feel offended”, “feel let down”, “feel taken for granted” or “feel misunderstood”, that’s all it is, a feeling. We need to make sure that we deal with our feelings and be Holy Spirit directed people, not feelings directed people.
We need to choose to honour God by honouring one another. We also honour God when we honour those that He has placed in leadership. Honouring leadership means speaking positively about them, praying for them, encouraging them. You might think that is easy for me to say, as I am a leader, but you need to know that I lead in obedience and submission. I lead in obedience because that is what God called me to do, it was never a career choice. Secondly, I lead in submission to God and to those who are in authority over me.
Jesus said “ a house divided against itself cannot stand”. Division and disunity literally act like the wrecking ball against the house of God. The cause carnage and destruction, but unity brings peace, brings blessing and brings life. Don’t let Satan cause you to be a tool of division, disruption and disunity, instead, be a tool of love and life.
Romans 12:14 says “Bless those who persecute you”, if you feel those things above, bring blessing instead of cursing, then God will command His blessing over you and over the house. Be blessed to be a blessing to others.
Psalm 133 says this:
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
