45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” Matthew 13:45-46
What is your most precious possession? Perhaps your wedding ring, perhaps a photograph album, maybe for some people it will be their mobile phone! What is your most prized or precious possession?
Recently there was a story in the news of a man who found a very rare natural pearl in an oyster he ate as a hangover cure! I bet he sobered up pretty quickly!
Matthew 13 speaks of the Kingdom of heaven being like treasure in a field, worth selling everything to possess, or a highly valued pearl worth selling everything to own.
I wonder how many of us feel this way about the kingdom of God? Are we really willing to invest all that we are and all that we have to see the Kingdom of God grow and flourish?
Are we willing to invest our time, talents and treasure into the Kingdom of God? Are we volunteering and serving in a ministry that sees lives changed, or do we let others take the workload? Are we signed up to regular giving to help grow the ministry, or do we let others take the financial load? Are we investing our time in others?
Do you value the Kingdom of God and its ability to change lives? Let’s invest ourselves into the Kingdom, all that we are, our time, talents and treasure and see what the Lord will do!
