Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!’ Romans 5:3-5
In today’s message we’ll be continuing our series on Keys from Samuel with 1 Samuel 13 as our text. Often we think of having good character being all about integrity and holiness. C.S. Lewis said that “integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking”. That remains true today and integrity is key if we are going to be used by God to see His Kingdom come and His will be done. Integrity and holiness are a vital part of our discipleship walk with God.
They say that good things are worth waiting for, but how do we respond when it deems like we’re waiting forever for our breakthrough or for God to answer our prayers?
I want to encourage you today that whatever your situation, keep holding on in hopeful, faith filled expectation for God to come through. As the verse above says, hope in God is not a disappointing fantasy, He is faithful to fulfil His promises. Praise God today in faith and receive His love and peace. He is faithful.
